HOME ENERGY GRANT 2025/26 CLOSED but watch for 2026/27 announcement.
Barr Community Council has arranged a home energy grants of £260 to Barr residents thanks to community benefit funding from the Nadara Assel Valley wind farm.
Who can register?
The grant is for domestic main residences only. The residence must be within the Barr Community Council area boundary Only one registration is allowed per eligible household.
You do not need to be in receipt of any benefits or within a certain age group to qualify for this grant – it is open to all Barr residential households who meet the criteria, regardless of age and circumstance.
Second homes/holiday homes and commercial properties are not eligible.
How do I register?
Foundation Scotland are writing to all residential properties in Barr with a registration form and instructions on how to apply. If you haven’t yet received a form, or if you have questions, you can call or email Foundation Scotland:

You will be able to register by email or post, or by attending a drop-in session in Barr Village Hall on Saturday 28th February between 10am and 1pm. You will need to bring your registration form and:
- Your Council Tax Notice for 2025/26
- A recent bank statement showing your name and address, sort code and
account number so we can pay you. You can blank out any other information. - Register between 1st February 2026 and 31st March 2026
