Kelly Morris Consultancy hosted a Barr Community Open Day on the 3rd Oct managed by Sarah’s Creative Occasions with musical accompaniment from ‘Celtic Twist’ to allow residents to meet and chat, ask questions and informally discuss options for Barr’s future with the consultant one to one, before the final report is published this month. The findings of the feasibility study will be available to everyone and will be accessible on this web site, through the village facebook page and in printed form from the BPDC.
The day was full of sunshine, the Primary gave a display of their gymnastics and some candid interviews while lovely home-baking was offered for donations to the school. Teas & Coffees were provided, along with home-made organic soups, quality burgers, Billy’s ‘Barrilliant’ pizzas while tables showcasing local businesses and talent made quite an impact. Bikes were given a once over at a mini cycle health check by Barr bikes while the kids were entertained with an Autumnal scavenger hunt & arty fun creating a ‘wish’ tree. Consultant John was available all afternoon to answer questions about the findings so far and the range of possible solutions, including the purchase of Dinmurchie which is still very much in the mix. It is hoped that the outcome of KMC ‘ study & report will offer a short, medium and long term plan that the community can focus on to ensure future sustainability and employability for the village. It was a great day, very relaxing get-together and thoroughly enjoyable thanks to all the efforts of the Barr team!
