SSE has submitted an application to the Scottish Ministers for consent to construct and operate a wind farm adjacent to the existing Hadyard Hill Wind Farm, approximately 6km east of Girvan in South Ayrshire. Our proposals are to construct 31 turbines each with a generating capacity of up to 3.4MW, and a maximum ground to tip height of 126.5m. The proposed turbines and associated wind farm infrastructure lie to the south and north east of the existing site.

The Scottish Government provide the following advice on how to respond to the application and comments should be addressed to them rather than the SSE.

SSE have submitted their application for an extension to their Hadyard Hill wind farm near Barr. Along with consented and proposed wind farms this would mean a curtain of turbines stretching from Cumnock in the east to Girvan in the west. The Hadyard Hill wind farm would contain 83 turbines in total (52 already installed and a further 31 proposed) and would completely dominate the upper Stinchar valley and impact severely on the Girvan valley.
An appalling prospect for all in South Ayrshire, especially as the proposed turbines are 25% higher than those installed.

If you feel as we do that this would be hugely detrimental to the Girvan and Stinchar valley, the local communities, many homes, the Merrick Wild Land Area and the tourism potential of the area, than please let your views be known by taking a few moments to object.
