Quietly unassuming on the edge of Carrick, bordering on the Galloway forest, Barr is a traditional village community with a small but very active primary school and a variety of clubs and organisations.
National Trust tickets for residents of Barr
The Village currently has 15 National Trust tickets for use by residents of Barr. If you would like to use them please contact Jenny Craig.

Home Fire Safety Visit
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service provide a free home fire safety visit, with free smoke alarms, to anyone who would like one. This service can be arranged at a time to suit you, day or evening. The service is greatly under-used, and only takes about twenty minutes.

Barr Bus
The CB8 scheduled service operates 4 days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, between Barr and Girvan, connecting with trains and buses to Ayr and elsewhere.
