The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service provide a free home fire safety visit, with free smoke alarms, to anyone who would like one. This service can be arranged at a time to suit you, day or evening. Barr Bus : A return to a scheduled service 3 days a week  On Monday 1st May 2017 a NEW service CB8 began on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, between Barr and Girvan, connecting with trains and buses to Ayr and elsewhere. Barr Community Council have worked very hard for the last few years lobbying SPT for a return to a scheduled service to enable access to facilities for all and also contributed funding to the project that is backed by LEADER. Thank you to SPT, SACT but especially all Barr residents who supported this project.
