SSE has announced that it is dropping its plan to extend Hadyard Hill windfarm. South Ayrshire Planning Committee had recommended refusal for the 22 proposed 126.5 metre turbines between the Stinchar and Girvan valleys, and SSE has decided not to proceed to Public Local Inquiry. SSE are still confident that they would have got the green light at the Inquiry. They maintain that their decision has been made on purely economic grounds, and that the objections made to their plan were not of any significance.
