See Community page for details

Visitors can now plan their journey to visit our beautiful wee village of Barr using public transport and Barr residents can access the new Girvan leisure complex ‘Quay Zone’, Health clinics, Further Education, Supermarkets, trains & buses to Ayr and elsewhere!

This service will make a huge difference to Barr community – thank you to Barr Community Council for their perseverance and financial contribution, SPT for providing such an essential lifeline to a small rural community, LEADER for supporting and funding the project and SACT who submitted the application to LEADER and is managing the service on behalf of SPT. Most of all thank you to Barr community who are now vindicated in making such an effort filling in forms, surveys, questionnaires, providing data and giving their time to support such an excellent venture. N.B. The dial up ‘My Bus’ service will still be in place for the duration of this pilot.

We hope to see this service well used by residents and visitors alike and are told by SACT that the first month will be free so… enjoy!

Barr Trails Day Sunday 28th May & Barr Gala Saturday 3rd June also has a bus booked  -  contact Barr Community Association for details 01465 861 062

Updates on events will also be posted on Barr Village FB page

Please see attached notice of launch from SACT - sadly too little notice for Barr Community to organise a proper celebration of our collective achievement but the new SPT service is sure to be well used and is much appreciated.

Representatives of SACT will be available to answer questions and would love villagers to be in their publicity shots at Barr Stores.
